Based in Ramsey, Minnesota, Connexus Energy is Minnesota’s largest electric cooperative, providing electricity and related products to member residents and businesses. The Connexus Energy Board of Directors, elected by our membership, governs the electric cooperative. We serve more than 145,000 members in portions of Anoka, Chisago, Hennepin, Isanti, Mille Lacs, Ramsey, Sherburne, and Washington counties.

We post current job openings on our website, including details and qualification requirements for each position. The first step in the process is to complete a secure online application by submitting your resume and optional cover letter. Some positions may also require that you respond to a few short questions. The application process usually takes no more than a few minutes. After you have submitted your resume and answered any questions, you will receive a confirmation email.

The hiring manager and a member of our Human Resources team will review application materials to assess candidates whose qualifications best match the job requirements. If your application is selected, a member of our team will contact you to schedule a phone interview.
The initial interview allows us to gain additional information about your experience and qualifications, as well as how your skills and goals align. An initial interview typically lasts 20-30 minutes and is conducted virtually. After the initial interview has been completed, you will be notified regarding your status in the hiring process.
We will arrange general aptitude testing for the most competitive candidates. The testing measures cognitive ability required for successful job performance. These include the ability to learn, solve problems, and think independently. After testing has been completed, you will be notified regarding your status in the hiring process.

Additional interviews will be conducted in-person as well as virtual with panels of three or more Connexus Energy representatives. Representatives typically include the hiring manager or managers, a Human Resources professional, and potential team members or others throughout the organization who interact with the position. We may ask candidates to complete multiple interviews or activities.

Candidates may be asked to complete an online work-style assessment during the in-person interview process. This assessment provides information on behaviors, traits, and styles that may be useful in evaluating a candidate’s level of potential success in the position. Assessment of a candidate’s suitability to the position requirements and potential fit with our work culture and work style of the team are both key factors in the hiring process.
Once a candidate is selected for the position, the hiring manager and/or a Human Resources representative will contact the candidate with a verbal offer of employment. The verbal offer is followed by a written offer. All offers of employment are contingent upon successfully passing a drug screen and background investigation, and in some cases, a physical abilities assessment.
