Remembering Tom Stewart
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Dec. 19, 2024
Ramsey, Minn. — It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that I share the passing of our colleague and friend, Tom Stewart, lead lineworker.
Tom was a cherished member of the Connexus Energy family for more than 33 years. On Tuesday night, some of our staff were able to visit the hospital and meet with Tom’s family, who spoke of his passion and love for his job and co-workers.
What we know at this time is that Tom finished a job near the end of his workday on Tuesday and then fell about six to eight feet, suffering significant head injuries. His partner immediately called 911 and performed CPR. Tom was transported to the hospital, where he passed away overnight.
This is an incredibly difficult loss for all who knew Tom. Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with his family, loved ones and everyone affected by his passing. The outpouring of support and compassion from Tom’s co-workers has been deeply moving, and many plan to honor him by attending his service next week.
